The Colorado vs The World Rodeo on the first day of the National Western Stock Show (NWSS) has turned into a crowd favorite event. With three rounds of rodeo on one day that culminates in a high-test championship round on Saturday night that sells out every year, it is must-see action for rodeo fans. The $90,000 purse also makes it a high-paying one-day rodeo that guarantees big action.

This year’s rodeo did not disappoint the big crowds filling the Denver Coliseum to see the fast-paced event. First place finishers took home nearly $10,000 in winnings (or more) for the single day of competition and the atmosphere was high energy. Saddle bronc rider Wyatt Casper became the first contestant ever in the popular rodeo to three-peat as champion.

Kim Schulze (Larkspur, CO) took home the barrel racing title at the 2024 CO vs The World Rodeo on the first Saturday of the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO (January 06). Winning the popular team-format rodeo earned Schulze $9,575 for her 3 runs in one day. Image by Lincoln Rogers, 2024
